Lovely as they are, dog behavior can sometimes get into your
nerves. That issue of barking unnecessarily and in the most annoying
manner is just one of them. Experts agree that it helps to understand
certain things to be able to learn how to control your dog's barking
behavior. Here are some important points to remember when your pawed
companion is being stubborn:
1. There is a world of reasons why your four-pawed best friend is barking his heart out.
For sure, something is triggering them to behave this way. They may
spot a person, other dogs, other animals, or certain objects and they
express excitement, threat and agitation, or even tend to warn through
barking. There are also times when your dog barks because he feels
discomfort, pain and fear. Look around you or inspect your dog head to
paw, and you may just find the answer.
2. Your dog is telling you: "Spend time with me!"
Sometimes, your beloved pet just barks annoyingly and unnecessarily.
The truth is, you may not know it, but your pet dog may be in dire need
of your attention. Play with your dog, take him for a walk, snuggle him,
give him, treats and just be with him like a best friend would. Paying
attention to your pet's needs is of paramount importance.
3. Find out of dog training should be in the works.
Making "dog commands" to keep the pet behaved and quiet when he needs
to may just be the answer. Or may ignoring him will do the trick. You
can also consider using a device to train your dog to stop the noisy
barking, such anti-bark collars. You will never really know until you
are equipped with the right knowledge to point out the best solution. If
you think dog training is necessary this time, go ahead and ask a
trusted expert about it.
4. Perhaps, it is high time to instill some discipline in your beloved animal.
There are approaches you can take when it comes to dog discipline,
which in itself is a highly sensitive matter. It takes a great balancing
act, with the main objective of making your dog properly behaved.
Again, you may need the assistance of a dog behavior specialist when you
try this route. You don't want to risk hurting your beloved animal in
any way.
The way your dog behaves speaks a lot about how you
handle and take care of him. Spoiling your dog with all the love in the
world is a perfect way to raise him, but you need to let him know when
he is misbehaving. The bottom line is to define your relationship with
your pet and have the knowledge and ability to handle difficult
situations such as uncontrollable barking.
